Welcome to the Chelford Players

Chelford Players has been an integral part of Village life for more than 30 years. It started life in the Dixon Arms and then moved to Chelford Village Hall where we have been ever since.

We have put on a diverse selection of productions in the past ranging from Pantomimes, Plays, Murder Mysteries, Farces, Musical Extravaganzas, children’s plays, and many more. During this time we have built up quite a store of equipment ranging from Staging, Lighting, Costumes and scenery, and just recently we have been awarded a grant that we have bought sound equipment, large screens and projectors as well as lighting decks etc. We have managed to hold some small events to test these out e.g. a Movie night, Children’s Raves and Quiz nights to name a few.

Like everyone, Covid 19 paid a huge part in stopping all stage productions, including our small society. We want to start up again with a view to putting on a production in the next 6 to 12 months.

What we lack is people. We need folk who would like to direct, tread the boards and help behind the scenes. We encourage all ages and would like to put on some more productions.

Even if you haven’t done anything like this before, we would love to show you what it is all about, and maybe encourage you in the future. We are also open to suggestions for future events.

We are putting on a play reading on Tuesday 26th July 2022 at 8pm in Chelford Village Hall and we are currently in the early stages of organising a wine tasting event.

We're always looking for new members, either treading the boards or helping back stage. Find out more. For more information contact us on Facebook or Twitter @ChelfordPlayers, email us at [email protected] or call Kym Baskerville on 01625 890026.
